Lincoln American University has come up with Sharda University has signed an agreement of collaboration for the academic co-ordination which includes 1 year Pre-Medical Training at Sharda University.
The major reason why students from Lincoln American University have an advantage of over students enrolled elsewhere is that Lincoln American University prepares students for USMLE. In the other Universities of Guyana, students did not get the training of USMLE.
Students who aspire to become doctor in the United States know that they will eventually need to take the daunting USMLE. The USMLE is famously challenging three-step exam series that is required for anyone who wants to practice medicine in the United States. The first two steps of the series are typically taken while a student is still in medical school, while the third step takes place after graduation.
The exams are sponsored by two organizations: the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). The USMLE exams, particularly Step 1, are often referred to colloquially as “The Boards.”
A student can give his USMLE Step-1 after completing the Basic Sciences Program (2nd and 3rd year) in Guyana. Upon successful clearance of CAMC, he/she can apply for internship in any of the hospitals or clinical centres in the Caribbean.
The student then will be eligible to register in CAMC and Guyana Medical Council. Thereafter, a student can practice in Caribbean Islands / Guyana. Alternatively, a student can appear for USMLE Step 2 CK at Guyana and Step 2 CS at any of the six centers in USA. Afterwards, you can get Paid Residency (PG) in USA.
Post completion of Clinical Rotation and MD Program at Lincoln American University, you can appear for Caribbean Medical Council Examination (CAMC). Upon successful clearance of CAMC, apply for internship in any of the hospitals in the Caribbean.
Register in CAMC and Guyana Medical Council and practice in Caribbean Islands/Guyana. Alternatively, the student can appear for USMLE Step 2 CK at Guyana and Step 2 CS at any of the six centers in USA. There, you get Paid Residency (PG) in USA.
After the completion of Clinical Rotation from a reputed Hospital in USA, appear for USMLE Step - 2. After qualifying USMLE Step - 2, apply for PG (Residency) Program from USA.
While pursuing PG Program, apply for USMLE Step - 3. Get license to practice medicine in USA post clearance of USMLE (All Steps). This license enables you to become eligible to practice anywhere across the Globe without appearing for the entrance examination of that country. You can also apply for Fellowship Program in USA after the residency and become a super-specialist. You can also come back to India and get registered in MCI without appearing for FMGE.
